Libby is St. Louis County Library’s OverDrive App

St. Louis County Library offers an amazing selection of ebooks and audiobooks through OverDrive. The Libby app (available in the App Store) is a great way to access these materials on a phone or tablet.  Libby walks you through setup very easily. Use this link to access the collection directly:

LHWHS Library Catalog

The LHWHS library offers both ebooks and digital audio books in its catalog. 

  • Click Log in at the top right corner
  • Choose “Sign in with Google” and use your ladueschools.net account
  • The ebook and audiobook collections are in the first two lines that appear in the catalog.
  • Click on the title to see the features of the book. If a book can be checked out (some can’t) click the check out button to keep the book available to you. You can read on your laptop or on the Destiny Read app for phones & tablets, available in the App Store.

Learning Ally

Learning Ally Link is an educational reading app, designed for students who learn through listening, including students with dyslexia, learning difficulties or visual impairment. If you believe you would benefit from Learning Ally, please email one of the librarians to set up an account.

Audible Stories 

Audible Stories is a new service through which the company will be providing free streaming audiobooks for students for the duration of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Junior Library Guild

With JLG Gold Standard eBooks for high school students, JLG Digital gives you unlimited access to read books online from any device. There is no limit to the number of users who can access the books, so click away! Titles enter and exit the digital stream regularly, so there are always new picks available. No username or password needed. Just choose “High School Stream” and click on any title.

Scribed

Scribed, a subscription service, is giving 30 days free with no credit card required. You will have to create an account, and once you have, you have 30 days to read anything your heart desires.

 

Project Gutenberg 

Project Gutenberg is a library of over 60,000 free eBooks. Choose among free epub and Kindle eBooks, download them or read them online. You will find the world’s great literature here, with focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired. Thousands of volunteers digitized and diligently proofread the eBooks, for enjoyment and education.
